INSPECTION TOOL
Greige and Finished fabric inspection are critical in ensuring that the
customer receives the correct grade of fabric ordered and that your good
name is not tarnished by delivering substandard product to the market.
In traditional fabric inspection and inspector must look at 3 or more
things when inspecting fabric.
For manual inspection:
- The fabric
- The fabric length counter
- The fault record sheet
For computer based inspection
- The fabric
- The keyboard
- The screen to check that what they typed is correct
- The fabric length counter (if not integrated)
For weighed fabric the inspector must also check the weight of the roll.
In addition to all of this the inspector must then determine the grade of
the fabric based on some predefined rules.
Under the Arel touch screen computer aided inspection system the operator looks at two things:
- The fabric
- The computer screen
All input into the system is performed through pressing the computer screen
and all readings from meter counters and weigh scales are read in real
time. In addition to this the system can record multiple simultaneous
running faults, as well as multiple spot faults in the fabric. Once a roll
is completed the system will calculate the grade of the fabric
automatically based on the fabric type and the rules set up in the
system. By attaching a label printer to the inspection table fabric rolls
may be labeled as they are inspected to ensure complete and accurate stock
control is maintained at all times.
In summary the advantages of the Arel Computer Aided Fabric Inspection System is:
- Only two visual areas for the Inspector, dramatically improving concentration
- No manual processes for faster inspection
- Integration with fabric length counters and load cells for accurate roll measurement
- Automatic fabric grading based on defined rules
- Integrated label printing for complete stock control
- Multiple, simultaneous running (length) faults
- Multiple spot faults
- Individual fault severity recording
- Shift change recording for efficiency calculations
