KNITTING
The knitting module provides for the management and control of knitting machines in the
factory and the allocation of work to those machines. Integration with the machines can be achieved
through the Arel Knit Monitoring system or 3rd party control systems.
Knitting can be managed on either circular knitting machines or flatbed knitting machines with equal ease.
Knitting occurs according to the instructions on a knit order, and can use as many different yarns as
you require. A standard doff roll size is recorded on the knit order and based on this information
an expected number of greige rolls is calculated.
As the knit machine reaches the specified roll size the rolls are doffed, and placed either into the
greige inspection queue or directly into stock (dependant upon your requirements). For each roll an
actual size is recorded and a roll number assigned.
Knit room control and reporting is provided that allows a visual overview of the knitting room(s) and
shows information on what each machine should be doing. This is available regardless of whether machine
control integration occurs or not. Integration will allow more information to be displayed on the
control screen but is not required.
