WAREHOUSING
Warehouses can exist for all of your different raw materials and intermediate products
as well as your finished goods, ready for despatch. All of the various stockholding points in the system
are managed and controlled using individual stock management modules, however they all utilise a common
methodology.
All stock entering a warehouse must be receipted against a document. This includes product received from
production as well as product received from purchase orders or product returned from customers.
Every item in a warehouse is uniquely identified with a number and labelled. All warehouses support
location (or bin) control, and location coding can be very flexible. Locations do not need to be predefined
unless it is a business requirement.
All stock leaving a warehouse must be issued against a document. This includes issues to the next stage of
production, despatches to a customer or salesman samples.
All movements of stock between locations in a warehouse, all stock adjustments and all issues and receipts
are recorded in a transaction file. This transaction file provides a permanent history of every change
to the stock levels in the warehouse and provides and invaluable audit record.
If the costing module is installed all warehousing modules provide a stock control report that shows the
financial viewpoint of stock movements within a period, including opening stock, issues, receipts,
adjustments and closing stock. Variances between expected closing stock and actual are highlighted and
can be examined in further detail.
All warehousing modules provide the ability to perform stock takes and stock takes may be performed
in a number of manners.
Warehousing can be extended far beyond the basics provided by our system here, and can incorporate RF
technologies, picking control, and many other advanced features for managing your supply chain.
